Acts #2 : The Church Empowered--"Waiting on the Spirit"
- Let’s revisit Jesus’ “wait” pleas:
- Luke 24:49, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.
- Acts 1:4, And while staying with them he ordered them… to wait for the promise of the Father - the Holy Spirit.
- Implied strongly is this: “The Holy Spirit - whom I’ve already told you so much about - is going to come immerse each and every one of you in just a little while. Stay put. You don’t have the fullness of God’s wisdom yet, but you WILL! Don’t make any big decisions. Wait for my signal!”
- “How will we know the signal?”... “Oh… you’ll know!”
-
- Let’s read Acts 1:12-20 and see how well they did in “waiting…”
Similar to how I opened our “Spiritual Headship” mini-series:
- Today our focus is: Waiting on the Spirit: What it is NOT.
