We know that WE - children of God - are the Temple of the Holy Spirit, and putting all of the above together with Christ being the “son of David” who “built” the Temple - the individual members of the body of Christ with NO mediator between God and man except the Son of God Himself.

This is Stephen’s “defense!”

• • Building a physical Temple was not God’s doing - it was man’s - based on yet another rejection of Messiah.
  • And THAT was the last straw for the Jewish leaders of Stephen’s day.
