Acts #47: The Church Empowered "The If-Then Principle" (Acts 16: 25-40)
My title this morning: The “If-Then” Principle.
- Scriptures like ours today teach us a warfare engagement principle.
- Yes, “The Battle Belongs to the Lord,” but God’s teaching regarding battles on earth involve His servants - His children - His people engaging WITH Him in the battles.
- IF we engage, THEN victories abound in Jesus’ name.
- IF we don’t, THEN evil often continues unchecked.
- Edmund Burke said in the late 1700’s, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
- It’s a similar thought, except for where the power comes from: not in “good people” but in our Savior and King, the Lord Jesus Christ.
- That’s the way God - in His sovereignty - set it up.
- Edmund Burke said in the late 1700’s, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
