Today’s main application is Declaring… Jesus is Lord

• • But let me - on this 250th anniversary of our country’s founding - address one important thing relevant to this text:

• Jesus Christ IS Lord over all things.

• • Jesus is Lord over this nation - and ALL nations.
  • Unlike most other countries in this world, the United States of America WAS founded (and remains - judiciously and morally) upon Christian principles.
  • Several weeks ago - along with hundreds of other churches across our great nation, we spent an hour quoting our founding fathers on this very subject.
  • One confirmed quote comes from the 2nd President of the US, John Adams, who wrote to Thomas Jefferson in 1813, “The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity."
