Ephesians #44: "God"s Heart- Husbands, Love Your Wives" (Eph. 5:22-33)

    • When I see my marriage the way God wants me to see it, it’s heavy.
    • God wants me to see MY marriage as a snapshot to all people around me that captures God’s love.
      • And I - as the husband - am the head of the family.
      • The responsibility is on me.
      • I’m not called to see “all marriages” as a snapshot of God’s love. I’m called to see MINE as that, even if others around me fail.
      • Because it would be quite easy for me to say, “Huh, see? Marriages fail all the time. It’s not my fault. Marriage is hard for everyone. I’m just part of the collective whole of marriages everywhere.”
        • What a tragic way of viewing life and responsibility.
    • Husbands, marriage is hard because there’s no time limit to the command of LOVE.
    • There’s no caveat like “Unless your wife doesn’t love you back.” Or, “Unless your wife isn’t submissive.” Or, “Unless she drives you crazy.”
  • Praise Jesus there were no caveats like that in His LOVE!
