Following Fully #23: Joshua pt. 2 "Uncommon Sense=Uncommon Faith"
So I come at this topic today with a high regard for common sense. I did my best to instill it in my children while also holding up the Bible as the standard of all that is true.
- But sometimes “common sense” and “faith” are at odds with one another.
- Common sense is not the same thing as spiritual wisdom.
- When Isaiah 55 tells us God’s ways are higher than our ways, it takes faith to let that play out, and “common sense” must take a seat.
- When God called Abraham out of Ur and out from his family - to begin a new nation with him - common sense took a seat.
- When God told Moses to fashion a bronze snake, common sense took a seat.
- When Joseph found that Mary was pregnant, common sense took a seat.
