The Torah mandates eating lamb during Passover in the Book of Exodus, but according to Shulchan Aruch, practicing Jews now are forbidden to eat lamb at Passover. 

Before I read a few of those reasons, we Christians aren’t mandated to eat Lamb at Passover, either. Why not? 

• Because Jesus is the Passover Lamb! 
• We understand Passover was a both a literal deliverance of God for Israel out of Egypt, AND a prophetic shadow of Christ to come.
