Paul knows how divisions among leaders can tear a church family apart.

• He experienced it firsthand with Barnabas.
  • He spent the next 20 years reconciling with John Mark - the person at the center of his disagreement with Barnabas.
• He experienced leadership division both personally AND in nearly every church he wrote letters to. 
  • Leadership division is a unity killer. 
• And so he encourages them to “Agree in the Lord.” (v2)
