Philippians #33: Joy in Jesus “Ponder, Practice, Peace” Phil. 4:8-9
Last week: Anxiousness is not from God, therefore:
- Pray about everything, and the indescribable PEACE with God will result.
This week: Still in the context of v6-7, think on godly characteristics, which leads to practicing them, which brings God’s peace.
- The word “finally” is better translated “furthermore,” or “henceforth.” It simply means “besides,” or “additionally,” but rarely is used to indicate a new context.
- AND, Paul ends this “think on these things” encouragement with “and the God of peace will be with you” just like he does in v7.
- Attaining the peace of God is STILL the context.
Today’s title, therefore: Ponder, Practice, Peace
