The Holy Spirit Throughout History #20: "Dry Bones" -- Ezekiel
Some might have an issue with “Fearlessness”
- We often define courage as NOT the absence of fear, but moving forward even in fear.
- And I get that. People are often afraid to do things, especially young people, growing up, inexperienced, learning to trust the Lord.
- But unfortunately, the Bible doesn’t say - ever - “While you’re fearful, have courage.”
- And I get that. People are often afraid to do things, especially young people, growing up, inexperienced, learning to trust the Lord.
- The implication that man is afraid is certainly there.
- Why would God say “Be not afraid” if fear wasn’t present? Right?
- But the Bible says in 1 John 4:18, “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”
- The overall command to NOT fear is due to the fact that Israel (and as those grafted in - Christians) is perfectly loved by God Almighty.
- Therefore, fear is cast out.
- The Spirit of God commands Ezekiel, BE NOT AFRAID. Be Fearless.
